The Councilor for Housing of the Cádiz City Council, Eva Tubío, visited this Wednesday October 27, 2020 the works of the second phase of rehabilitation of the 28 homes located on Calle Doctor Marañón, 4, which will be undertaken by the company Ejoc2004 SL. Both representatives of the University of Cádiz (UCA) and Procasa, and the councils of the Environment, Urban Planning and Energy Transition were present in the visit, since it is a cross-cutting project.
The building will be retrofitted a combination of ventilated roofs and facades, the use of interior ventilation strategies and heat insulation for the improvement of the conditioning systems and the thermal comfort control of its users.
An area of 1,077 m2, including 28 apartments will be renovated. The current consumption, according to the technical data, is 43.3 kWh /m2year and the consumption objective at the end of the project is <5 kWh /m2year (minimum). This would allow achieving savings of 5,017 euros/year (98%) with a repayment period of 14.8 years. Training courses in energy management are planned to be given to future tenants of the houses, so that they take full advantage of the possibilities that the building will offer.
Ultimately, the aim is to build a building that becomes an example of almost zero energy consumption.
